School Dances

Have you ever been to a school dance? Surely you've been to at least one, right? Well, if you haven't, you should go to one and get out there and dance. It's worth it, even if you embarrass yourself, it's worth the memories you make with your best friends, or even with your date.
What to Expect
One of the things that is typically expected is getting asked to the dance. I really don't like telling you this, but actually not a lot of girls get asked. Don't get down though because going with a group of amazing friends that make you feel good about yourself if even better.
Another thing that is also presumed is that there will be a slow dance. That is true, but not everyone dances to them.
The setup will be amazing. That is true in most cases, but it really depends on the personalities of the organizers.
Most of my friends were freaking out about the dance because they thought it was a huge deal and in middle school, or junior high it's really something you might forget. So, don't stress too much about it. As for high school, that's a different story. Prom, Homecoming, Spring, Fall, and Winter Formals are normally based around dancing (big shocker) so, you'll have plenty of chances to get your dance moves right. Unless you're me.
What to Wear
If you're in middle school or junior high, what you wear can vary. It really depends on the theme. If you're in high school the attire is almost always formal, which means boys in tuxes, or something nice at least and girls in dresses.

Junior High
In my junior high years, I've had a couple of dances that we had to dress up for and most of them were really fun, but it all depends on what you're wearing because if you're wearing super high heels, then you're either going to kick them off, or be miserable. From what I've learned, whatever you do, DON'T WEAR A DRESS THAT GOES DOWN TO THE FLOOR! It will be hard for you to dance and it'll be heavy when you're feet are tired after the dance.

High School
Okay, bare with me on this one because I don't have a ton of experience with high school dances. From what I've heard, you're going to want a comfy and cute dress. There are sometimes after parties, so it may be a good idea to leave a spare dress or different clothes so you can be more comfortable.
Wearing heels is fun as long as they're not to big. Try not to spend a lot of money on shoes because you're just going to take them off to dance anyways and if you're dress is long, no one will be able to see them anyway.
Conclusion
Dances are fun and crazy times, so don't get so wrapped up in what you see on T.V. because really, it's all fake. My dances may be totally different from your dances, so you don't need to remember every single detail of this post, but keep them in mind.
That's all for now.
With love,
